Community Outreach: The Norcross Community Market does more than provide a great space for vendors and shoppers to enjoy a fun Saturday together. We also offer special community services for qualified shoppers. You can help our community find out about eligible services such as Wholesome Wave, SNAP/EBT, and the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program – all of which can be used AT the market! You’ll help in a variety of ways including manning a table at the market, visiting community centers to present information to eligible neighbors, and other fun interactions with community members.
Chef and Cooking Demonstrations: If you enjoy cooking and helping others learn new skills, you can help us by scheduling local chefs and cooks to demonstrate safe and nutritious preparation of fresh, locally grown food available at the market. You’ll do a bit of this in advance of the market and may need to be on hand on market days to make sure the chefs have everything they need. Or you may be the one sharing safe food storage and preparation tips to groups prior to their visit to the market.
Event Planning: If you are the best host or hostess on your block, we’ve got a gig for you! Our success depends on community engagement and fundraising. We would love to hold or take part in several new and existing events throughout the year and need a few folks to help us organize these. This is a year round need, but you can commit to one or two events that suit your interest and schedule.
Music and Entertainment: Know some great local musicians? We offer a stage for them on Saturdays during the market and possibly some of our pre and post season events. You’ll help schedule and coordinate live entertainment for each market event.
