Norcross Community Market is taking fresh food and healthy living activities to the people at a special location for a sneak peek at what the market will have to offer in season two.
Thanks to a partnership with Summerour Middle School and a generous contribution from AgSouth Farm Credit's Think Outside the Box® grant program, this pre-season event will be held at the rear parking lot of Summerour Middle School between the teaching garden and rear entrance to the school. Save the date Saturday May 20 and join the fun from 9 am to 1 pm at 321 Price Place, Norcross.
Fresh, locally grown produce and handcrafted items by local artisans will be available for purchase at this special pre-season market. June 3 is the opening day of the second season of Norcross Community Market. It will continue on summer Saturdays through August 26. Get in the habit of a Saturday morning outing to meet neighbors and friends, new and old, at this outdoor family friendly event with free admission open to the public. Just note the location for this special pre-season festival is different from the regular home of the market.
Lots of fun things are being planned with children's activities hosted by Norcross First United Methodist Church, cooking demonstration, a PTA booth, Bike Rodeo by the Bike/Ped Committee of Sustainable Norcross and Norcross PD, screening for SNAP eligibility by Wholesome Wave Georgia, Summer Reading Program registration by Norcross Public Library, and more.
Volunteers, vendors, sponsors, and contributors are welcomed to join in make this first Think Outside the Store Early Bird Market a big success at Summerour Middle School. Apply to be a vendor of farm produce, handcrafts, or prepared food here.
