Calling all potential prepared food vendors for Norcross Community Market and others. THIS CLASS WILL BE TAUGHT IN SPANISH.

Food Safety for Farmers and Safe Cottage Foods Operation Class

UGA Gwinnett County Extension and Norcross Community Market are teaming up to offer a Food Safety for Farmers and Safe Cottage Foods Operation Class • Saturday, May 13 from 9:00 am. to 12:00 pm. • Farmers and gardeners attending the class will learn what food borne illness is, how contamination gets on or in our produce, who is the most susceptible to foodborne illnesses, proper water and irrigation and manure practices. They will also learn about Georgia regulations to produce non-potentially hazardous foods in home kitchens to sell to the end users. This program will be held at Norcross Cultural Arts and Community Center Room 5, 10 College St. Norcross, GA 30071. The cost is $5 per person. Think Outside the Store - Shop this Early Bird Norcross Community Market at Summerour Middle School

Norcross Community Market is taking fresh food and healthy living activities to the people at a special location for a sneak peek at what the market will have to offer in season two.

Thanks to a partnership with Summerour Middle School and a generous contribution from AgSouth Farm Credit's Think Outside the Box® grant program, this pre-season event will be held at the rear parking lot of Summerour Middle School between the teaching garden and rear entrance to the school. Save the date Saturday May 20 and join the fun from 9 am to 1 pm at 321 Price Place, Norcross.

Fresh, locally grown produce and handcrafted items by local artisans will be available for purchase at this special pre-season market. June 3 is the opening day of the second season of Norcross Community Market. It will continue on summer Saturdays through August 26. Get in the habit of a Saturday morning outing to meet neighbors and friends, new and old, at this outdoor family friendly event with free admission open to the public. Just note the location for this special pre-season festival is different from the regular home of the market.

Lots of fun things are being planned with children's activities hosted by Norcross First United Methodist Church, live entertainment by students of Summerour Middle School, a PTA booth, special activities by the Bike/Ped Committee of Sustainable Norcross, screening for SNAP eligibility by Wholesome Wave Georgia. Summer Reading Program registration by Norcross Public Library, and more.

Volunteers, vendors, sponsors, and contributors are welcomed to join in make this first Think Outside the Store Early Bird Market a big success at Summerour Middle School. Apply to be a vendor of farm produce, handcrafts, or prepared food here.

Pop Up Market Saturday September 17

Thank you for a wonderful first farmers market season! In response to public requests to extend the market we invite you to join us at our first monthly pop up market.

Through a partnership between Norcross Community Market and festival host City of Norcross, the annual Gateway International Food and Music Festival will gain a mini farm and artisan market and enhanced prepared food and beverage offerings. The music, dance, Kidszone, and lots of family friendly fun the festival is known for will once again take place on the lower lawn of Webb Park. This year's celebration of Welcoming Cities Week is scheduled for Saturday September 17 from 4 - 8 pm at Webb Park.
