Wish we could put all your names in lights for helping make our market opening day a success! Thanks to our visionaries who worked tirelessly for months, our volunteers, supporters, and sponsors who put together a market with the focus on food from Georgia farms. Thank goodness we actually have farmers and producers who want to sell directly to consumers. And much appreciation goes to our market shoppers and visitors. A big hand goes to our local own duo, Grey Matter, for the tunes and to providers of children's activities First United Methodist Church and Lionheart Theater. A word of thanks is reserved for chef demonstrations by Sizzling Peach and also to Cooking Matters, a project of Open Hand. Non-profit and co-organizer Sustainable Norcross and their Bike/Ped Committee should take a bow too for their Walk Friendly City and transportation educational outreach. Special thank yous to market manager Nancy and our co-organizer Sagdrina of Georgia Farmers Market Association and Project Generation Gap.
Thanks to photographer Chrisoula Baikos for this shot of the market and to the Caseys for the vantage point. Props to Dean Hesse who allowed us to share his album of photos on our Facebook page.
It really does take a village. Thanks to each one of you for the great beginning for Norcross Community Market!
Next market is this Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm at Webb Park. Come experience the market and make your own memories and photos.
