Has your American flag seen better days? Is it in too bad a condition to fly proudly any more? Have you held on to it because you did not know how to dispose of it properly?
Well, you are in luck. Sustainable Norcross is collecting tattered and torn U S Flags during each week of the Norcross Community Market season starting with Opening Day Saturday June 4. Just drop your old flags at their tent and they will add them to others collected.
At the end of the season the flags made of nylon will be recycled by Advanced Disposal as part of their summer long Retire Your Flag program. Cloth flags that are collected will be burned in a respectful retirement ceremony conducted by local scouts.
"While the freedom, justice and sacrifice our flag represents will live forever, all flags eventually reach the end of their useful lives,: stated Advanced Disposal CEO Richard Burke. "We are proud to be an American company and it is our honor to offer this free service to our customers and neighbors."
Drop off your worn out U S flag at the Sustainable Norcross tent at Norcross Community Market summer Saturdays through August 13 (except July 2) at Webb Park between 9 am and 1 pm.
